THE RAISING READERS PROJECT
is a literacy initiative serving Charleston County and the surrounding areas in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Through customized workshops for parents, teachers, and other caregivers, we empower adults in their efforts to engage the children in their lives in a lifetime of reading. With her successful book TEN TIPS FOR RAISING READERS at the program's core, local author Fran Hawk draws on her thirty years experience as a librarian to make reading fun for everyone, parent and child alike, and in doing so, to improve literacy and lives in our community.

THE RAISING READERS PROJECT is an initiative of The Palmetto Project.
